and my heart's in my mouth.
Will he make it? I wonder,
imagining him fall to the ground.
Holding my breath, I tell myself,
Ok, stop worrying. He'll be fine.
his thick fingers holding on tight,
he slowly pulls himself up, up
and occasionally looks over to me.
"You can do it!" I say.
I smile and nod, exhale, inhale.
Without my help, he rights himself
when his foot accidentally slips down.
It's hard to believe he's grown
so much in just two years.
Oh, where has the time gone?
