but harassment never ends for me.
Most times, I hate walking outside.
Too many men think it's okay
to call after me, "Hey, sexy!"
to disrespect me with supposed flattery.
Today, I'm calling out rape culture--
the collective ability to demean women
and call it kind or complimentary,
the international thinking that makes me
public property to be commented on,
jeered at and invited to bed.
Today, I'm asking you to help
Stop Street Harassment, to call out
catcallers who make women like me
uncomfortable walking down a neighborhood street.
Tweet #EndSH, post support on Facebook
and tell everyone: Stop Street Harassment.
- Have you personally encountered or witnessed street harassment?
- Did you respond? If so, how?
- How do you think we can stop street harassment?'
